Naturalization of Vietnam for children whose mother is Vietnamese

Dossiers of application for Vietnamese nationality

  • An application for Vietnamese nationality.
  • A copy of the birth certificate, passport or other substitute papers.
  • A curriculum vitae.
  • A judicial record issued by a competent Vietnamese authority for the period the applicant resides in Vietnam.Then; a judicial record issued by a competent foreign authority for the period the applicant resides in the foreign country. Judicial records must be issued within 90 days before the date of filing the dossier.
  • Papers proving his/her Vietnamese language skills; place and period of residence in Vietnam; ability to make livelihood in Vietnam.

Some notes related to naturalization of Vietnam for children whose mother is Vietnamese

Those who are exempt from certain conditions for naturalization in Vietnam must submit the following additional documents:

Firstly; persons who are biological fathers; natural mothers; or biological children of Vietnamese citizens must submit a copy of the birth certificate. In addition, they can submit other valid papers proving the parent-child relationship.

Secondly; the child  is helpful to the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Where to apply the dossiers related to naturalization of Vietnam for children whose mother is Vietnamese

– Firstly; the applicant for naturalization of Vietnam shall submit the application directly at the Department of Justice of the province or centrally run city where he/she resides.

– Secondly; processing time: accordingly; current regulations; then it is 195 days from the date the Department of Justice receives a complete and valid dossier.

– Thirdly; Fee: VND 3,000,000
