Certification conditions
To receive a certificate, in addition to having to meet the conditions for doing business in real estate brokerage services; the requester must undergo test discrimination and achieve the minimum score to pass the test. In addition, it is necessary to prepare a set of documents as follows:
- 01 application form with color photo of size 4x6cm, taken within 06 months from the date of registration.
- Besides, a certified true copy of ID card for Vietnamese people or passport for foreigners (or original copy for comparison).
- Particularly, a certified true copy of Certificate of completion of the training course on knowledge of real estate brokerage practice (if any).
- Certified copy of high school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
- Moreover, two color photos of size 4x6cm taken within 06 months from the date of contest registration, 02 stamped envelopes clearly stating the recipient’s name, phone number and address.
- Lastly, one certified true copy and translation of a foreign-issued certificate (for foreigners and Vietnamese with a valid foreign-issued real estate brokerage practice certificate).
Certification Procedure
Step 1: Approve exam results
After submitting the application, the certificate applicant will have to undergo a test of knowledge related to the profession of real estate broker. After the exam, the Chair of the Examination Council shall report to the Director of the Department of Construction on the process of organizing the exam; and approve the exam results at the request of the exam organizing unit.
Step 2: Make a list of certificate holders
On the basis of the report of the Chair of the examination board; and the exam results are approved by the Chair of the Examination Council, the Director of the Department of Construction approves the list of individuals who are granted certificates.
Based on the decision to approve the list of individuals to be granted certificates, the test organizing unit is responsible for transferring the photocopies of the test and their records to the Department of Construction for certification.

Step 3: Get the certificate
Within 10 working days from the date of receipt of a complete and valid application, the Department of Construction shall print it; and issue the certificate.
Re-issuance of real estate brokerage practice certificate
The certificate holder is lost, torn, burned, or destroyed due to natural disaster; or other force majeure reasons, the certificate will be re-issued
Dossier to prepare
A dossier of application for re-issuance of the certificate shall submit to the Department of Construction that has granted the certificate, including:
– Application for re-issuance of certificate with photo.
– Besides, two photos of size 4x6cm taken within 06 months from the date of application submission.
Old certificate (if any).
Order and procedures for implementation
Within 10 working days from the date of receipt of a complete dossier as prescribed, the Department of Construction that has issued the certificate is responsible for re-checking the dossier; and re-issuance of the certificate (specify re-issue in the certificate).
So, the applicant for re-issuance of the certificate shall pay VND 200,000 to the Department of Construction, to prepare for the re-certification.
The certificate can only be re-issued once, the certificate number is the old certificate number. Moreover, the re-issued certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue of the old certificate.
