Pursuant to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 3 of the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam 2014 as follows:

In this Law, the following terms are construed as follows:
1. Foreigner means a person carrying a document identifying foreign nationality and a stateless person entering, exiting, transiting or residing in Vietnam.

Foreigners enter Vietnam for the following purposes:

What documents do foreigners need to enter in Vietnam?

Visa (Visa)

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 17 of the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam 2014 as follows:
“Article 17. Issuance of visas at overseas Vietnamese visa-issuing agencies
1. Within 01 working day from the date of receipt of instructions from a competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the passport and visa application form with a photo attached, for the case specified in Clause 2 of this Article. 15 of this Law, the visa-issuing authority of Vietnam abroad shall issue visas.
2. In the case not specified in Clause 1 of this Article, after receiving the notice of the inviting or guaranteeing agency, organization or individual, the foreigner who is required to have a visa shall submit his/her passport and declaration Visa application and photo at the competent visa-issuing agency of Vietnam abroad. Children under 14 years old who share a passport with a parent or guardian are not required to apply for a visa in case they share a passport with a parent or guardian.
Within 03 working days from the date of receipt of the notice from the immigration management agency or the competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the overseas visa-issuing authority of Vietnam shall carry out the following procedures: visa issuance.
3. The head of the visa-issuing authority of Vietnam abroad shall grant a visa valid for no more than 30 days to foreigners wishing to enter Vietnam to survey the market, travel or visit people. medical treatment in the following cases:
a) Persons who have a working relationship with overseas Vietnamese visa-issuing agencies and their spouses, children or persons with written requests from competent agencies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host countries;
b) The person who has a guarantee note from the diplomatic missions or consular offices of countries located in the host country.
4. After granting a visa for the case specified in Clause 3 of this Article, the head of the overseas visa-issuing authority of Vietnam must notify the immigration authority and take responsibility for it responsible for the issuance of visas.”
