Price list for buying and selling solar power
Announcement No. 112/EVN-KD+TCKT on the purchase price of rooftop solar power in 2021, Electricity of Vietnam has announced the purchase price of solar power for works performed before December 31, 2020 as follows:
Rooftop solar power projects will have a commercial operation date of June 1, 2017, to the end of June 30, 2019. The purchase price of solar power of Vietnam Electricity Group in 2021 is VND 2,162/kWh. This price does not include value-added tax.
Rooftop solar power projects will have a commercial operation date of June 1, 2017 to the end of December 31, 2020. The purchase price of solar power of Vietnam Electricity Group in 2021 is 1,938 VND/kWh. This price does not include value-added tax.
For project investors who intend to install solar power systems in 2021, the selling price will be specified as follows:
- Case 1: If the rooftop solar power capacity is less than 20kwp, the purchase price will be 1582.16 VND/kwh.
- Case 2: If the rooftop solar power capacity is from 20 to 100 kwwp, the purchase price will be 1468.82 VND/kwh.
- Case 3: If the rooftop solar power capacity is from 100 to 1250 kwwp, the purchase price will be 1362.41 VND/kwh.
About business registration lines to invest in rooftop solar power
According to the provisions of Vietnamese law on the registration of business lines; for businesses investing in rooftop solar power to sell electricity to EVN; or sell electricity to other organizations and individuals, that enterprise is in the case of needing to supplement the electricity production industry (sector code 3511); and/or electricity transmission and distribution industry (sector code 3512).
In case the rooftop solar power business fails to notify the change of appropriate business lines, it may be fined for administrative violations due to late notification of changes in business registration information as follows:
– Be warned or fined from 500,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND for notification of changes in the business registration information.
– A fine ranging from VND 1,000,000 to VND 2,000,000 shall be imposed for notifying changes in the business registration information.
– Fine from 2,000,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND
