Cases of guaranteeing Vietnamese people to go abroad
Overseas Vietnamese can apply for their relatives in Vietnam to leave the country for a definite time and, depending on the case, need the following documents:
1. Guaranteeing Vietnamese to go abroad to visit relatives:
Firstly, invitation letter or guarantee from overseas Vietnamese for relatives in Vietnam. This document must be certified by the government where the overseas Vietnamese reside.
Secondly, birth certificate or proof of relationship between Vietnamese residing abroad and relatives in the country.
2. Go abroad to study:
Guarantee letter of overseas Vietnamese (as mentioned above).
Also receipt letter from the school where you are applying to study abroad.
3. Guaranteeing Vietnamese to go abroad for marrying:
Firstly, a guarantee letter of the fiancé or fiancée who is overseas Vietnamese, with the consent of the host country to allow Vietnamese citizens to get married.
Secondly, certificate of singleness of overseas Vietnamese, issued by the local government.
Finally, the guaranteed paper of the Vietnamese to determine the Vietnamese to settle abroad, issued by the local government.
4. Go abroad for medical treatment:
Receipt certificates issued by medical centers, specialized hospitals abroad.
5. Guaranteeing Vietnamese to go abroad for other humanitarian purposes.
Specifically, proof of the purpose of the request to go abroad issued by the competent authority of the foreign country; or the diplomatic mission of Vietnam to grant: to receive inheritance, to take or pick up relatives to enter and exit Vietnam because of illness, old age or children who are unable to go or return on their own. Overseas Vietnamese send the above documents to their relatives in Vietnam to submit together with the exit application to submit to the diplomatic mission of the country that wants to enter Vietnam for consideration and issuance.
In case your grandchild is a minor applying for a visa, written consent from the parent or guardian is required to allow the child to go abroad. Parent/guardian consent must be translated and consular legalized.
