Step 1: Prepare documents to apply for a work permit for foreign experts in Vietnam

An application file for a work permit for a foreign expert includes:

Firstly, a written request for a work permit for the enterprise as prescribed.

Secondly, health certificates for foreign nationals; the health certificate is valid for 12 months, up to the date of application.

Thirdly, a criminal record card or other valid legal document proving that a foreign citizen has or has not violated the law.

Fourthly, documents proving that the foreign citizen is an expert, including:

– The document certifying that the foreign citizen is an expert must contain the complete information of the certification body, including the name of the certifying agency, organization, or enterprise; information about experts: full name, date of birth, nationality of foreign citizens.

Note: the occupation in the certificate must be suitable for the industry that will work in Vietnam.

– Foreign citizens must have a university degree or higher or other qualifications of equivalent value.

– Foreign citizens must have at least 03 years of experience in the position they will work in Vietnam.

In addition, 02 photocards 4×6 cm. Photos are on a white background; hair does not cover the face, photos taken not older than 6 months from the date of application.

 – If foreign citizens work outside industrial parks or export processing zones, they must submit them to the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs.

 – If a foreign citizen works outside an industrial park or export processing zone, they shall submit it to the Management Board of the industrial park or export processing zone.

Time to process dossiers: 07 working days from the date of receipt of complete and valid dossiers.
