In case of necessity, the Ministry of Justice requests the Ministry of Public Security to verify the identity of the applicant for renunciation of Vietnamese nationality.

Within 20 days from the date of receipt of the written proposal of the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; or of a Vietnamese representative mission abroad; The Ministry of Justice is responsible for re-checking the dossier; if it is deemed that the applicant for renunciation of Vietnamese nationality is eligible for renunciation of Vietnamese nationality; then report it to the Prime Minister and submit it to the President for consideration and decision.

Within 20 days from the date of receipt of the Prime Minister’s proposal; The President shall consider and decide

Step 6: Receive the decision
