- In case it is necessary to check seals, signatures, titles, and documents: Within 05 working days from the date of receipt of the application, the competent agency or organization shall reply in writing to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Immediately after receiving the reply, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall process and notify the results of the applicant for consular legalization.

- Exempted from the collection of fees for consular legalization and certification of foreign organizations and individuals on the basis of diplomatic relations and other external cases under specific decisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Papers and documents not subject to consular legalization
Papers and documents not subject to consular legalization are specified in Article 10 of Decree 111/2011/ND-CP on consular certification and legalization:
- Firstly, corrected or erased papers as well as documents but not corrected in accordance with the law.
- Secondly, papers and documents in the application for consular legalization contain conflicting details.
- Thirdly, falsification of papers and documents or issued/certified against authority according to the provisions of law.
- Fourthly, papers and documents with signatures and seals that are not original signatures or original seals.
