Step 1: Access the marriage registration page on the National Public Service Portal; select the province/district, district/ward, commune; where the marriage registered.

1. Firstly, a certificate of marital status issued by the commune-level People’s Committee; if the marriage registration requester does not register his/her permanent residence at the place; where the marriage registration procedures are carried out.
In case the marriage registration requester is working, studying or working abroad for a definite time; then must submit a certificate of marital status issued by a diplomatic mission; or consular mission of Vietnam abroad (a photocopy of the original is required).
2. Secondly, papers proving the identity of both men and women such as Passport; ID card, citizen ID card or other papers with photo and personal information issued by a competent authority; still valid (taken from the original or a certified copy from the original.
3. Thirdly, documents proving the place of residence:
Household registration book or temporary residence book of both men; and women (taken from the original or a certified copy from the original). If this Book has been revoked, a confirmation of residence is required.
4. In addition, extracts of divorce notes for cases where Vietnamese citizens registered their permanent residence in the commune; to carry out marriage registration procedures, and their previous divorce has been; resolved at a foreign competent authority ( taken from the original or a certified copy from the original or a copy issued from the Master Book).
